On a typical hot and tiring day at the Abu Dhabi stadium, Dinesh Chandimal (155*) went about collecting runs quietly, with a minimum of fuss. Akin to a diligent sculptor, he waited, waited and waited for the loose ball and invariably put it away. Chandimal's age-old virtues certainly bore fruit as he composed a brilliant unbeaten 155 to pilot Sri Lanka to a sizeable 419. Pakistan were, still behind by at stumps on Day 2.
