Spanish tennis player David Ferrer has withdrawn from the China Open in Beijing. The 35-year-old was set to make his eighth appearance at the event. The world No. 28 concluded his run in Beijing in the semi-final stage in 2015 and 2016.The Spaniard was close to winning it all in 2010, but fell short in the final to Serb Novak Djokovic.
Ferrer hasn't played since he suffered a surprising US Open round one loss to Kazakhstani Mikhail Kukushkin. Meanwhile, world No. 34 Philipp Kohlschreiber has also quit the China Open. The German was on the brink of playing in Beijing for the first time since 2013.
