Manish Sisodia raids school, men occupying class ‘held’

As per the Delhi government, an entire classroom at Kalyanpuri 19 block Nagar Nigar School, a school in east Delhi, had been converted into living quarters. “A number of items ranging from utensils to a small axe, meant for chopping wood, were also recovered from what was once a classroom. This entire room had been converted into living quarters,” claimed an official.

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia alleged, “The school had a number of complaints. In fact, we received information that this group of people had illegally forced out the students and slowly converted the classroom into living quarters from themselves.”

The government added that questions as to whether the room was being further let out on rent is also being investigated. The raid was conducted by Sisiodia, Kumar and Delhi Police. The two arrested were not identified at the time this paper went to press.
