Cancer patient gang-raped, seeks help from commuter who rapes her again

A 15-year-old girl, a blood cancer survivor, was gang-raped by two youths in Sarojininagar late on Saturday night.

The survivor was also sexually assaulted by a commuter who pretended to help her and then forced himself upon the girl. Police have arrested the commuter identified as Virendra Yadav of Banthara and hunting the other two accused -- one of them is reportedly known to the girl.

Police said that around 8.30 pm, an acquaintance of the girl had called her up and invited her to go out with him and eat chowmein.

In her statement to the police the survivor alleged that she had left home and around 9 pm, and met her acquaintance who took her to a secluded place where he along with his aide took turns to rape her and fled.

Later, she tried to seek help from a commuter who also assaulted her. After reaching hime, she narrated her ordeal to the parents.Her father lodged a complaint with Sarojininagar police in the morning.

ASP East Sarvesh Mishra told TOI that two miscreants named by the survivor are Shubham and Sumit of her locality. Efforts are on to nab them.
