While announcing his retirement from international cricket last month, Ashish Nehra vowed not to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

But it turns out that his involvement with the tournament, after all, is not going to end soon.

It has been widely reported that the former India pacer has signed up as a mentor with the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

An official announcement has not yet been made by either party but Mirror learns that Nehra himself has confided his new assignment with close friends and teammates.

The news got discussed during Zaheer Khan’s marriage reception in Mumbai last week when Nehra confirmed the development with some of his friends.

Nehra himself did not respond to a question from this paper but some of his former teammates and a couple of IPL franchises have confirmed the development, allegedly.
