With the end of Chandika Hathurusingha era, BCB decided to make drastic changes in Bangladesh cricket. The highest authority of cricket in Bangladesh has replaced Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and appoint Shakib Al Hasan as the new captain in the elite format.
Mahmudullah Riyad will be the new vice-captain of the Test team. The decisions have been come out after the executive committee meeting of BCB on Sunday.
Shakib Al Hasan was selected as the captain in the shortest format of the game after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza announced his sudden retirement in the midst of Sri Lanka series last March.
The 30-year old all-rounder played 51 Test matches for Bangladesh scoring 3594 runs and grabbed 188 wickets.
