Even with Kawhi Leonard back in the rotation, the Spurs dropped a game to the Dallas Mavericks for the first time this season with a 95-89 loss.
Leonard played his first game since last May and scored 13 points, making his season debut his 109th straight game with double figures. Leonard also had six rebounds, one steal and one block in his 16 minutes of play.
LaMarcus Aldridge led the team in scoring with 23 points.
The Spurs trailed most of the first two quarters and went into halftime trailing the Mavericks 46-44, after a shot at the buzzer from Bryn Forbes.
But the team didn't stay down for long, starting the second half with seven unanswered points and heading into the final quarter of the game up 69-67. Dallas took advantage of poor Spurs' shooting early in the fourth quarter, retaking the lead and never looking back.
The Spurs take on the Houston Rockets on the road this Friday at 8:30 p.m. and then face Dallas again on Saturday at the AT&T Center.
