Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday cast his vote in Sabarmati’s Ranip locality in the ongoing second and final phase of the Gujarat assembly polls. Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) sitting MLA Arvind Patel is contesting against Congress’ Jitubhai Patel from Sabarmati seat.
Earlier, PAAS leader Hardik Patel, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and BJP president Amit Shah also cast their votes in their respective constituencies.
Ninety three constituencies spread across 14 districts in north and central Gujarat will go to polls. A total of 851 candidates are in the fray and over 2.22 crore people will take part in the election to decide their fate.
