The Teachers Service Commission has deregistered 41 teachers from its professional list because of disciplinary cases. This brings to 63 the total number of teachers who have been struck from the teaching roll in 2⃣ years😲
TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia 🔈said the decision to remove the teachers from the commission's roll📝 was made in exercise of its powers under section 30 (2) of the TSC Act.
Dr Macharia said where the name of a teacher is removed from the Register of Teachers, such a person shall not be reinstated except by direction of the commission.
Dr Macharia said that under the TSC Regulation the Act, anyone who violates the law shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine of not less than 💸Sh100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2⃣ years or both.
And this also affects persons who hire deregistered teachers. Anyone who gives a job to such teachers would be committing an offence.
