🔰 Australia 3 for 203 (Smith 92, S Marsh 7) trail England 403 (Malan 140, Bairstow 119, Stoneman 56, Starc 4-91, Hazlewood 3-92) by 200 runs

Australia captain Steve Smith lead the home side’s fightback with an unbeaten 92 on the second day of the third Ashes Test match against England in Perth.

Smith and Shaun Marsh (seven not out) helped Australia finish the day with a score of 203-3. With seven wickets remaining, Smith’s side trail England by 200 runs after the tourists ended their first innings all out for 403.

The second day at the Waca had resumed with yesterday’s century hero Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow looking to build a big first-innings total for England.

But after Malan was dismissed for 140 and Bairstow for 119, England’s tail collapsed from 368-5 to 403 all out.

England’s performance in the field did not get much better as they dropped three catches. Cameron Bancroft (25) and David Warner (22) gave Australia a steady start before the opening pair were dismissed by the injured Craig Overton. Usman Khawaja also scored a half-century.
