Wahab Riaz, Pakistan's left-arm pacer, has been ruled out of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017 due to an ankle injury. The 31-year-old bowler suffered the injury during Pakistan's tournament opener against India in Birmingham on Sunday (June 4).
Riaz suffered the injury in the 46th over of the Indian innings and was seen on the ground in a lot of pain. Riaz, who had conceded 87 runs off 8.4 overs, left the field immediately and didn't come out to bat either.
The PCB has sent an official request to the ICC Technical Committee for a replacement.
