According to the office of the army chief, the aircraft carrying 105 passengers and 11 crew, went missing today between the southern city of Myeik and Yangon. The passengers are family members of the military men.
“Communication was lost suddenly at about 1:35 pm (07:05 GMT) when it reached about 20 miles west of Dawei town,” the commander-in-chief’s office said in a statement.
Ships and planes have been dispatched to search for the plane that was flying over the Andaman Sea before it went missing.
As the weather is fine, technical failure of the aircraft is suspected.
