Pakistan🇵🇰 bowlers found their mojo✨ in the crunch game against South Africa🇿🇦 and restricted them to 219/8.
Opting to bat, the Proteas lost both their openers in a similar fashion by the 14th over. Amla & QDK missed straight deliveries from Imad Wasim & Mohammad Hafeez and were trapped LBW☝. The two spinners combined a few deliveries later to strike a decisive blow by sending AB de Villiers back for a duck. The Proteas captain slashed a wide delivery from the left-arm spinner straight to Hafeez at point.
Hasan Ali⚡ then produced a magnificent spell of pace bowling and dismantled the middle order. Faf du Plessis dragged one on to his stumps while JPD & Wayne Parnell were undone by back to back late😍 swingers. With 22 overs still remaining, David Miller & Chris Morris buckled down🛡 to try and bat out the remaining overs. The southpaw played cautiously and made his way to an unbeaten half-century(75*). After Morris' departure, Kagiso Rabada played a useful knock and ensured that his team played out the entire quota of overs.
The low scoring first innings has been reminiscent🤔 of the '99 World Cup at England, with batsmen all at sea against some terrific Pakistan bowling and South Africa's lower order, led by a left-hander, displaying resilience.
Can the Pakistani batsmen hold their own against the talented bowling attack of South Africa⁉ Or will Rabada & co. give their opposition a taste of their own medicine⁉
