Rohan Bopanna🎾 Wins French Open Mixed Doubles🏆

Indian tennis ace Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski came out with a sublime performance to beat their German-Colombian opponents Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Robert Farah in the final to clinch their maiden French Open mixed doubles title in Paris on Thursday.

Seeded seventh, Bopanna and Dabrowski took an hour and six minutes to defeat the unseeded Groenefeld and Farah 2-6, 6-2, 12-10 on Philippe-Chatrier Court.

Thus, Bopanna has become only the fourth Indian to win a Grand Slam crown after the legendary Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza.

Bopanna entered the final of a Grand Slam tournament after a gap of seven years. He had also qualified for a Major final in 2010 when he and Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi entered the title clash of the US Open.
