Rafael Nadal edged one step closer to a historic 10th French Open by beating Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-4, 6-0 in the semifinals at Roland Garros. Nadal's win has set up a mouth-watering final with Stanislas Wawrinka on Sunday.

Thiem, who vanquished Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals, looked far from his best against the 'King of Clay' today who did not put a foot wrong throughout the match. Nadal, who had been beaten in the runup to the French Open by Thiem, was determined not to give the Austrian even a sniff as he powered through the opening two sets.

Thiem just could not handle the rallies or the spin and whip on Rafa's forehands and ended up committing a host of unforced errors with his forehand, making it all the more easier for the Spaniard. The third set was just a mere formality with Rafa hardly breaking sweat and earned himself a bagel.

However, the summit clash should be a proper test for Rafa against Wawrinka who has never lost a grand slam final in his career.
