The Executive Secretary of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Richard Nii Armah, has charged the government to as a matter of priority make the Ghana Police Service very visible in the communities to prevent lynching of suspected armed robbers.
The late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was gruesomely killed on Monday May 29, 2017, after some residents of Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region claimed they mistook him for an armed robber He had a weapon on him, which made the residents suspicious of him.
Speaking on ATV's Anopa Bosuo show with host Nana Yaw Fianko, Richard Nii Armah bemoaned the fact that lynching of suspects has become a culture in Ghana and urged the government to take drastic steps to save innocent souls "The government should employ more youth in the police service to make the patrol of the various communities a priority.
The police service should also be provided with more patrol cars for urgent response."
