Chris Ashton Makes 1⃣st Start for Sale Sharks👏

Chris Ashton is set to make his delayed debut as he is named on the wing for Sale Sharks against Connacht Rugby in the European Challenge Cup Pool 3 match at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday 20th October.

Ashton is one of five changes to the starting fifteen, one positional. Returning to the side are Bryn Evans, Ben Curry and James O’Connor, whilst Josh Beaumont moves from lock to number 8.

Also set for a debut, if called upon, is loosehead prop Tom Bristow.

Ahead of the game, Sharks’ Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said, “Under Andy Friend, Connacht are a very competitive side. They arrive in the North West on the back of victories at Ulster and home to Bordeaux- Begles, and we’re taking their challenge very seriously.

“We served notice of intent with our performance at Perpignan, and want to progress through to the knockout stages of the competition.”
