The Highlanders have made it two from two in Super Rugby 2018 with an equal parts entertaining and frustrating 33-15 bonus point win over the Stormers in Dunedin.
The first half was simply sensational as both teams traded tries in a high octane 40 minutes. The Stormers dominated possession and grabbed two well-taken tries while the Highlanders turned their limited opportunities into points to take a 19-15 lead at the break.
The pace of the game caught up with both teams in the second half as the error count stacked up and the Stormers struggled to convert their numerous chances close to the Highlanders line.
The Highlanders All Blacks were to the fore throughout the game and it was fitting that Waisake Naholo and Aaron Smith combined for a try in the 77th minute to ensure the bonus point for the Highlanders and subject the Stormers to a third-straight loss on their tour of New Zealand and Australia.
