The Bulgarian only last faced world No 1 Nadal last week in the Monte Carlo Masters and lost at the semi-final stage.
But going into the Barcelona Open, where he could meet Nadal again if both players reach the final, Dimitrov has revealed he relishes the high level of competition.
Dimitrov - ranked No 5 - is one of four top-10 players in Barcelona with reigning champion Nadal the man to beat following his Monte Carlo triumph, his 31st Masters 1000 title.
But 26-year-old Dimitrov insists that he holds no fear over facing Nadal or his great rival Federer, who is skipping the clay-court season to be fresh for the grass season.
“It’s pretty magnificent to see all players that are playing out here and ready to compete,” Dimitrov said at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona.
“I think everybody’s hungry for some matches and wants to compete, which is great.
“I am very happy to see this and I am all for the competition. I think you should never rule out any performance and any tournament that you play.
“It does not matter if Roger Federer or Rafa Nadal or whoever else is playing in that tournament. If you want to be the best, you need to beat the best at some point.”
