Delhi Daredevils have signed England pacer Liam Plunkett as a replacement for the injured South African speedster Kagiso Rabada. This will be Plunkett's maiden appearance in the Indian Premier League after he went unsold in the auction earlier this year.
Rabada, who was retained by Daredevils using the RTM card for INR 4.2 Crore, was expected to lead the attack before a lower-stress back reaction ruled him out of action for three months.
Plunkett, who has recently established himself in the England limited-overs setup, will join a pace attack that has the likes of Trent Boult, Mohammad Shami and Chris Morris in its ranks apart from the uncapped Indian seamers. He will bring a wealth of experience to the squad having played 119 T20 matches in his career so far where he has picked 110 wickets. The 33-year-old has so far represented England in 93 matches across all formats.
