Keshav Maharaj, South Africa's premier spinner, penned a deal with Lancashire for the rest of the County season, on Tuesday (August 28).
The left-arm spinner is set to play in Lancashire's County fixture against Worcestershire in Southport this week. The County is then scheduled to play Somerset, Yorkshire and Hampshire away from home.
Maharaj, the 28-year-old, has been a fine performer for South Africa, evidenced by the 90 wickets he has taken at an average of 27.65 in Tests. In July this year, he snared a nine-wicket haul in the first innings of the second Test versus Sri Lanka in Colombo. Maharaj also showcased his skills on largely unresponsive surfaces of New Zealand (15 wickets) and England (17 scalps) last year.
