Petition of Defamation ✍🏼 Filed Against Aayush Sharma Over Loveratri

  |   Salman Khan

Aayush Sharma's debut with Loveratri may not be as smooth sailing as he might have expected. The debutant is facing trouble as the title of the film seems to have hurt the religious sentiments of some Hindus.

A petition of defamation has been filed against the actor by advocate Ajaykumar Waghmare. He has moved the Aurangabad bench of the High Court claiming that the film's title distorts the name of the Hindu festival Navratri and sounds lewd and crass.

Waghmare stated that the film's release date is also around the period of Navratri which is sacrilegious in its intention. However, the name of the film has been placed for purely financial gains. In his petition, Waghmare has asked the makers to drop the title name Loveratri along with certain scenes from the film that is deemed objectionable.

He claims that the scenes are nothing but an attempt to malign and project the Hindu festival as well as women in a derogatory manner. Waghmare also wants the makers to send an official apology for hurting religious and women's sentiments by naming the title Loveratri and putting in scenes deemed obscene.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawal and produced by Salman Khan, Loveratri is set to release on October 5 and introduces Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain as leads.
