WI🆚BAN: Brathwaite⭐ Smashes Century💯 On Opening Day

Windies 295/4 (Kraigg Brathwaite 110, Shimron Hetmyer 84*; Mehidy Hasan 3-90) vs Bangladesh

A resolute Kraigg Brathwaite and a free-scoring Shimron Hetmyer helped Windies turn the tide and eventually bag the opening day honours in the 2nd Test against Bangladesh in Jamaica. Batting cautiously in the first couple of sessions on a surface that aided plenty of turn, Windies switched gears with Hetmyer leading the charge in the final session of the day as the hosts added 131 runs off just 27 overs to finish Day 1 at 295/4.

Brathwaite added 109 for the fourth wicket with Shimron Hetmyer, which came on the back of a 79-run third-wicket stand with Shai Hope, and 50 runs for the second wicket with Kieran Powell. Hetmyer, who had added 48 for the unbroken fifth-wicket stand with Roston Chase, remained unbeaten on 84 off 98 balls - his second Test fifty.

But the day truly belonged to Brathwaite, who once again stood out for his tenacity.
