Dhadak Actor Shridhar Watsar 🔈: I Am Sure SRK's Zero Will Change People's Perception Towards Dwarfs 👍🏻
Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's Dhadak is on a record-breaking run at the box office as far as films featuring newcomers are concerned.
Those who have seen the Marathi blockbuster Sairat, Dhadak's source material, or Dhadak itself, know that the film is quite a heavy-duty drama and filled with emotional moments. There are several moments in the film that won't give you any chance to breathe. But it is not without its lighter moments and that is courtesy the funny bone of one of its supporting actor Shridhar Watsar.
Shridhar plays Madhukar's (Ishaan Khatter) best friend and is responsible for providing the much-needed humor to a serious film. Dhadak has received a mixed response from critics and audience alike but it's enough for it to make money at the box office.
In a recent interview, post the film's release, Shridhar, who is vertically challenged talked about the subject of the film, among other things. He said, "We have all seen or heard about such instances. We might be progressing ahead but somewhere these beliefs pull us down as human. Cast and religion differences are still prevalent in the society. It is a major issue, especially when it comes to marriage."
But he is hopeful by the end of the year, things are gonna change for good for people with dwarfism. And he credits that to SRK's Zero. He said, "I am so happy that Anand L Rai and Shah Rukh Khan have decided to make Zero. The audience will finally get to see what a vertically challenged person goes through. We are normal people, so why shouldn’t we be treated equally. I am really looking forward to its release. Zero will surely change the perception of people. Also, I am sure it will open up new doors for me."
Zero releases on December 21.
