Triumph has officially taken the wraps of the limited edition 2019 Triumph Thruxton TFC. The new motorcycle is part of the company’s new line of factory custom motorcycles called 'Triumph Factory Customs', or TFC for short. Coming back to the Thruxton, it features carbon-fibre bodywork, a power bump and a lot more that makes it more exclusive than the standard model.
Each one of the limited 750 bikes produced will feature a 'Deep Satin Black' paint finish and brushed-aluminium-finished inserts on the tank. The motorcycle also features gold pin-striping on the fairing, fuel tank and rear-seat cowl, done by hand at the Triumph factory in the UK. Additional detailing includes a billet-machined aluminium top yoke with TFC branding, a tinted windscreen, a leather seat with stitched detailing, and a billet-machined aluminium oil-filler cap. Other visual differences include a blacked-out finish for the wheels, rear shock absorbers, engine casings and fenders.
The Triumph Thruxton TFC uses the same 1,200cc, parallel-twin engine found on the standard model. However, this engine has been tweaked for this application. The limited edition bike makes an additional 10hp and 3Nm of torque, taking the total to 107hp and 115Nm of torque. The British manufacturer has said that it achieved this increase by using lighter engine components, high-compression pistons, revised ports and cam profile and a Vance & Hines exhaust system that comes as standard. Not only is the TFC more powerful, but also 5kg lighter than the Thruxton R, at 198kg (dry).
