After outplaying Aussies in their own backyard, India are set to face a sterner test against the Kiwis. They don't have a particularly good record in New Zealand with only 10 wins to show from 35 matches played including the 0-4 drubbing in 2014.

In terms of ICC rankings, a mere 8 points separate 2nd placed India and the Kiwis at 3rd position.

In the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka, all 3 games were high scoring matches with the hosts scoring 300+ runs on each occasion. Both teams are finalising their respective squads for the upcoming World Cup and there are a few spots up for grabs. India have two exciting rookies in Shubhman Gill and Vijay Shankar who would present their cases for sneaking in ahead of Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya respectively.

For New Zealand, with Jimmy Neesham out injured, it opens door for all rounders Colin de Grandhomme and Mitch Santner.

McLean Park in Napier is a batsman's paradise with a flat playing surface and short boundaries. Given the quality of batting in both sides, this should be high scoring match!
