Personnel of the BSF Meghalaya Frontier seized 53 pieces of Rs 2,000 fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 1,06,000 and apprehended a Garo Bangladeshi.
A statement issued by a public relation officer of the BSF Meghalaya Frontier said on October 15, information was received regarding smuggling of fake Indian currency notes through the international border with Bangladesh in East Khasi Hills district.
Acting on the information, the 11th battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) laid special ambush along the international border on the most probable routes in the jungle and riverine areas.

As part of the operation, the BSF personnel were able to apprehend a Bangladeshi national identified as 68-year-old Bhola Sangma from a place, about 200 metres from the international border with Bangladesh....
