Hostilities Along Border Dampens Spirit For Indo-bangla Summit

Hostilities at the Indo-Bangladesh frontier has seemingly dampened the spirits ahead of the two-day India-Bangladesh Stakeholders meeting scheduled in Assam from Tuesday (October 22).

Tension gripped both sides of the border after one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed and another injured due to firing by a Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) soldier.

The incident took place at Murshidabad in West Bengal on Thursday.

BSF and BGB, since the last decade, have been maintaining a cordial atmosphere along the borders without even firing a single bullet.

Thursday's incident sparked tension even as BSF chief VK Johri called up BGB chief over for a detailed probe....
