Centre's high-level committee on Assam Accord on Friday visited Silchar to take comments, suggestions and views on the implementation of clause 6.
The committee led by chairman, retd justice B K Sarma met various organizations at Silchar's circuit house from 2 pm.
80 organizations from the three Barak Valley districts- Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi-would meet the members of the panel till Saturday afternoon.
"Yesterday, a team had visited Kokrajhar and today we are here in Silchar. We would meet various organizations of the three districts and hear what they have to say on this issue," AASU president Dipanka Kumar Nath told reporters.
He said since there is a clause for safeguarding the rights of the indigenous people of Assam, we would hear each and every one because we believe that there are many ethnic and linguistic communities residing in this part of the state....
