The 2020 Hyundai ix25 has been spotted undergoing test runs in South Korea. Images of test mule without any camouflage have surfaced online divulging concrete details about the model. Interestingly, the ix25 is sold under the Creta nameplate in India and hence we could expect same changes in the second-generation Hyundai Creta. The all-new ix25 (sold under a different moniker in the Chinese market) was first showcased at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show and will replace Creta in several international markets.
Going by the spy images, there is a stark change in the design and styling. The 2020 ix25 is heavily inspired by the Hyundai Palisade. That said, it gets a new stance and dons a totally new look. At front, there is a prominent radiator grille, futuristically designed split headlamps with LED lamps on the top of the main headlights, LED daytime running lights, fog lamps and faux skid plate. Sharp creases are missing on the side, though it gets squared off wheel arches, bold cladding and diamond cut alloy wheels. Round the back, it sports split tail lamp.
Prominent changes have been made to the interior as it gets a large floating portrait infotainment system display mostly seen in luxury vehicles. The dashboard seems neat with just a few buttons on it. There is a new steering wheel inside and it also gets horizontal central air vents. The spotted variant seems to be a mid-spec trim as it misses out on the sunroof and contrast paint as seen in the displayed model. The higher variants in the line-up are expected to come with paddle shifter, cooled seats, an electronic parking brake, etc.
