The PS4-exclusive Spider-Man game was a huge success, earning critical-acclaim and standing as one of the best-selling games of 2018. Considering this, a sequel to Spider-Man seems like an inevitability, and while it may be way too early to know what Spider-Man 2 might be like, the most recent issue of the tie-in comic may give fans an idea of at least one villain to expect.
In Spider-Man: City at War #2, Spider-Man faces off against the villain S.W.A.R.M. (Symbiotic Warfare Anthophila Restraining Model), a villain that is made out of bees and uses them in battle. S.W.A.R.M., or simply “Swarm” as he is known in the comics, was apparently meant to be included in the original Spider-Man PS4 game, but was cut for unknown reasons.
However, even though Swarm wasn’t seen in Spider-Man on PS4, the character was still referenced in-game. There is a podcast segment by J. Jonah Jameson where he references a “Nazi made out of bees,” which was our first clue that Swarm exists in the Spider-Man video game universe.
