It was a hectic day for Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in Garo Hills on Monday, the day when the first ever cabinet meeting was held outside the state capital, Shillong.
Starting his day prior to chairing the historic cabinet meeting, the CM inspected the ongoing construction work of the Ganol Hydel Project in presence of Thomas Sangma, MLA and advisor to the chief minister, Selsella MLA, Ferlene C.A. Sangma and officials of the power department.
The work for the 22.5 MW project started in 2014 and once completed, it will greatly benefit the power deficit state.
After inspecting the project, the CM inaugurated the Zila Sainik Welfare office, Tura at Deputy Commissioner’s office premises to look after the welfare of ex-servicemen, widows and their dependants of the five districts of Garo Hills....
