In a game where rain played spoilsport, Sangeeth Cooray (88) and Shehan Jayasuriya (65*) notched up crucial fifties to propel Sri Lanka A to a morale-boosting six-wicket victory as per the DLS method against India A in the third one-day of the five-match series in Belagavi. India A, however, still lead the rubber 2-1.
After India A finished with 291 for 8 in their quota of 50 overs, the visitors needed a solid start. Niroshan Dickwella, the wicketkeeper-batsman, and Cooray provided the platform with a first-wicket stand of 82. Cooray and Jayasuriya added 109 to put them in pole position for a consolation win.
