The injections that are given to babies in the first 18 months of life are vaccines. Immunisation against Tuberculosis, Diphtheria, Whooping Cough, Tetanus, Measles, Mumps and Rubella are recommended to be given. In addition, immunisation against Hepatitis B and any other infection that may be prevalent in your region may also be given. These vaccinations help build up immunity in the baby against these infections. Immunisations are an excellent preventive measure against these infections, which may otherwise cause great suffering and in some cases even be fatal for the baby. I always recommend that every baby should be given all immunisation as recommended by your doctor as per the protocols that are being followed in your region.
