Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and her Narc Kenya counterpart Martha Karua are among the 24 lawyers set for conferment of the rank of the senior counsel.
They were selected by the Committee on Senior Counsel from a pool of 90 applicants who had sought to join the exclusive club of senior lawyers in the country.
Kalonzo and Karua served as Vice President and Minister for Justice respectively in former President Mwai Kibaki's administration.
Also selected for elevation are Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Dorcas Oduor, former Director of Public Prosecution Philip Murgor, former CEO of the defunct Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) Patricia Nyaundi and family lawyer Judy Thongori.
Other veteran lawyers selected for conferment are Prof Albert Mumma, John Ohanga, Kioko Kilukumi, Fred Ngatia, Rautta Athiambo, Waweru Gatonye and Wilfred Nderitu.
Also on the list are John Chigiti, Kiragu Kimani, President Uhuru Kenyatta's former legal advisor Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed, Commission on Administrative Justice former chairman and Rarieda MP Otiede Amollo, Zehrabanu Janmohamed, Tail Ali Taib, Mohammed Nyaoga, Pravin Bowry, Fackson Kagwe and Parkash Nagpal.
