Remnant: From the Ashes, the Souls-like game from Gunfire Games, has proven to be one of 2019's sleeper hits. In our own Remnant review, we praised the game's co-op functionality, the tough-as-nails boss battles, and the thrill of finding new loot. Now the world of Remnant is expanding, as Perfect World Entertianment and Gunfire Games have announced two free DLC updates that will add even more content to the game.
First up is Adventure Mode, which is coming to Remnant on September 12. Adventure Mode allows players to re-roll biomes right off the bat without having to complete the main story. Since there is some randomness to Remnant's dungeons, the bosses players encounter (with the exception of critically important bosses and encounters like early on when players have to find the Root Mother), and the loot they can find, this will make it much easier for fans of the game to see everything in the game.
The addition of Adventure Mode should be exciting, but most fans will likely be more interested in the new Remnant story DLC that's coming on September 19. Leto's Lab, which will also be added for free, lets players explore a dungeon called Research Station Alpha, solve puzzles, and fight a new boss. Story-wise, Leto's Lab is about a laboratory that studies the mysterious red crystals that are used as checkpoints in the game. Head researcher Leto Apostolakis started conducting unethical experiments with the crystals, also known as World Stones, until his lab was eventually overrun by the Root.
